    Hey guys,

If you ever want to right a coin resource guide or any other coin collecting article, you are always welcome to write an article for my site. I would love to have your contributions. I would like my site to become an awesome resource for coin collectors.

declanwmagee - thanks for joining me on this. I guess we should make a start straight away then perhaps others will join in.

coinblogger - interesting blog. I may offer you an article or two some time. Meanwhile would you like to help us develop the coin wiki?

    Hi
I work at Wikia and have always thought a Coin Collecting Wiki would work well due to the amount of content, data and enthusiasm available. Templates and infoboxes can be set up to record data such as year, condition, country of origin, where minted, materials used, value, errors, versions, etc. Add images to that and it gets really interesting. To give you an idea of what a collectible can look like on Wikia, check out a page at the Hotwheels Wiki. http://hotwheels.wikia.com/wiki/Rollin'_Thunder

The beginning phases of a wiki can be a blast... yet sometimes a little daunting. Let me know if I can help point you in the right direction or solve initial challenges like getting a logo or favicon up and running. Later on, as the wiki grows, we can ask for the wiki to be promoted throughout Wikia, showing others what you've created and leading to others to add content and fill in blanks.

I will watch the forum here for a response. Or you leave me a message on my talk page at the wiki. http://tinyurl.com/aw3n9f

    Cheers,
    BillK

I've made some changes to the home page and altered an incorrect date on the only page of content I could find.

I'm still trying to learn how to use Wikia.

Does anybody have any articles ready to post?

I'm about to try to post an article which I recently wrote about British Gold Coins. Not sure how to include pictures though so they may have to wait.

    Vince -
I've turned on our WYSIWYG editor on the coincollecting wiki. This should make adding articles much easier. I've also added a few images to your article on gold.
    Enjoy!

NO, NO, NO. The more you all advertise coin collecting, the more coin collectors there will be. The more of them there are, the less chances I have of finding the coins I want. Also, the more you tell about coin collecting, the higher the prices will be for the coins I'm trying to collect.:crying::crying:
Actually sounds like a great idea. Wonder why no one has done this yet.

    Lincoln Cent Enthusiast Required

I've just posted a "stub" article about the Lincoln Cent. I'm wondering if there is somebody who would be able to build the article up a bit as I know very little about US coinage.

    http://coincollecting.wikia.com/wiki/Lincoln_Cent

Are there any Lincoln Cent enthusiasts who would like to have a go?
