Errors maybe? Seems like whatever they used to strike the coin might have slipped. It’s on Lincoln’s jaw and on the back above the letter “C” and took some of the letter “E” in CENT also on the pillar. I am very new to this so I do not know like many here who have that knowledge. I do think it was done while the coin was being made. By the way whoever it was that wished me a Happy Birthday, I thank you. Also, just the whole Lincoln’s head seems like the indentations are to deep, seems off, like it’s full of errors. Again I’m new to this and I come here because I always get the answers to my questions. Thanks in advance.
Sorry Richard . Happy Belated Birthday! On another but sad note. You have here a beaten Cent . Nothing more nothing less . PMD or Post Mint Damage . Happy Holidays .
When looking at coins such as this one, if you can see any displaced metal around the mark, as your coin shows, it is usually PMD gouge and not an error.
