1944 India-British 1 Rupee

Any thoughts??
Also does anybody have an idea on mintage??

The scratches in the obverse is a bit let down but otherwise a nice example IMO. :thumb:

 

I suspect that a lot of these were brought back to England and the US by WW2 soldiers.

I have several from that period along with 1/2 and 1/4 rupees.

 

no one knows the exact minatage of these coins becoz records were not broken down by year and mint mark. but frome stimates many were namde and is not worth too much more than melt
