The Mint must be working the dies to death. There are already at least two errors that have showed up on the 2009 Cent.

    david,

Thanks for the info! However, my bet is that everyone will be searching for Doubled Dies! I have requested some rolls of the new Lincoln Cents and hope that the price is not what is being seen on eBay already!

Cool. These will be another ebay craze that will end in disappointment once everyone discovers there are more than what was originally believed. :)

Here's a possible third "error". It just looks like bag marks but the owner claims he got it from a roll and the entire roll has the same markings on each coin. Maybe a defective die.

Just a fast question. Four series of reverses, one each quarter. Are all three mints involved in each series? That would be 4 X 3 = 12 to collect, then, right, when it's all said and done? Just inquiring about the business/circulation strikes, now...

:loud:Cracks are damage to the die. It's the normal wear of the dies. Many will say it's a error and even list them on e-bay as such, but for the serious collector it's damage.
