I think that I finally understand the difference between large and small dates, but I just have to check.. To me, it also looks like it could be large over small.. but, I never get that lucky... :goof: bryan
I'm just trying to figure out what in the world is going on with the "6"... unless it's just a nick that's making the coin look like more than it is.
For sure, small date, great find! I found an MS-63 one a few months ago while roll searching, I also found a couple in EF brown.
Thanks This one's probably a 61 (mayyyybe a 62) with neat iridescent toning that I'm not really sure how to photograph. Which, seriously, how do you capture toning in a photo?? Maybe photograph it at an angle? The scratches are showing up pretty harshly due to some sharpening in Photoshop.
The small date has less of a gap between the top of the 6 and the top of the loop of the 6, if that makes sense. Also, the 0 looks similar to a doughnut on the small date.. from what I read, that's one of the reasons they changed the design.
