Has a Hoard of Aulus Gabinius Tetradrachms Been Found Recently ?

    For the last 6 months I've noticed a lot of Aulus Gabinius Tets on the market from most of the major auction houses & wonder if a hoard has recently been discovered o_O? The recent offering from Roma Numismatics, E-Auction 79 has 10 of these coins :jawdrop:, see photos below of 3 of their coins.

    I bought the coin pictured below many years ago & paid a hefty price for it. Today you can score nice looking examples for a fraction of what I paid for this coin :mad:.

    Your coin is the best of the best Al , hard to compare it with lesser quality coins.

    I paid 65 GBP for mine August 2020 , about very fine imho

    Perhaps someday someone will find a nice big hoard of Eid Mars, and we can all have one!

    If someone did find a nice hoard of Eid Mars denarii outside of Italy, there would be a fierce battle of different countries trying to claim it & the litigation could go on for years :smuggrin:.
