I have this 1961 cent that something has hit the bottom off it. I thought at first it look like another coin maybe had hit it but I don't think it was that I've not seen any thing like it. plus right beside the hit their is a small place took out of the rim.I figure I would get you Guy's opinion on this one what ever it is it made a perfect hit and hit hard to make something like that in a copper cent these coins are tough you just don't make something that easy with out running the hole coin itself.
The word liberty looks like it might have some doubling own it I could be wrong but really trying to figure out what could made that hit like that.
I've tried every way you can think off trying to get these pictures more crisp but can not get it these phone camera only do so much the iPhone is the only one I've used to get that crisp look and my daughter ha's one but she is gone right now. So I wonder what happen to the bottom off the body of the coin.
I found a double Woody on a1982 d pretty nice coin the front looks like it has some doubling own in God we trust even on the liberty and the date but I don't believe my camera will pull it up close enough for you to be able to Tell I can try to take a picture and see that's all I can do.
I just found another 1982 p with a double Woody this coin is more Woody than the other one this coin is in good condition two bad these coins ant the 1982 d small dates that would be nice I wonder how many off them have been found I only no of one I think that was back in 2016 or 2017 some were around their I think people have took All the small dates out I've got about 7 out of 200 1982 coins you can't find theme I have a better chance of finding a s coin than a small date coin even the 1960 small date I think I have a couple off them not many that is for sure. but if these double Woody coins are worth a little I'm doing really good.
The pics are too blurry to tell a thing. Take a photo a little further away, then crop out the background. I'm thinking a strike through but I can't say with the blurry photo above.
Sorry about that it's the best I can get this phone camera to do I will just have to quite taking pictures of these coins when I need help I will just put them to the side for now to I can do better it's the only thing I know to do if you can't make it out what I'm looking for no need of waisting you're time with these coins I will try something different thanks anyway for real.
I think you have a big heart and a passion for this hobby Tater. Could you do us a favor though? Photos are the only thing we have to help you. Photos are difficult. Especially the ones that need some details to get help with. I see you posting for help, I and most of the community want to. But, you need to be able to decipher your own photos to help us see what you are seeing, And that can be helped if you take some time to study coins and use the tools that are posted to help also. You are a smart man, read up on the variety's. The more you see the more you learn, I have done it myself almost daily right here on CT. I try to read most every thread especially when there is something to learn. When you have the education it is much easier to pick out those coins that are desirable, we have many an expert post daily with the intent that someone gleans their knowledge to pass on the hobby. One question do you read as much as you look at coins? If you don't then you are doing yourself a disservice. One that continually educates himself in his hobby will usually pick twice as many coins of value out of a random stack of coins than one who searches blindly. Happy hunting @tatter tott If you need some online references I would be more than happy to post them. You can PM me anytime.
Thanks for the advice I do a lot of reading but I could do more when I first started this coin hunting that is all I done was Read and I learned a lot. But I've slowed down on reading and I can tell their is a lot to this when I first started I thought you look for some bad coins and that was it boy was I kidding my self. I really love this hobby I started off with nothing a few cent's that my pawpaw gave me years a go that is it.Now I've got coins every were are they all worth something no and I no that right now I'm trying to learn and I love the hobby I maybe into to deep I catch my self every day going through roll's off coins I love all different types off coins I really don't even know were it come from just pick it up and like it from the start so any of you Guy's got for a new guy that Love's this hobby I'm all ear's I need all the help I can get a camera for one thing that is for sure cause mine Doe's all right but pin point on the coin it want do it.Thanks again Guy's and you to pickiN and Grinin for real sometimes you just got to stop me and tell me what I need to do Thanks.
For me the more punctuation you can use is more than helpful to those reading. Second learn the tool you are using and practice the art of capturing details. I have many and more than many coins that I have repeatedly photo'd that no one on CT have ever seen because I can't capture the details or the beauty of the coin. It all takes practice. Shoot I have been working a hammer and chisel to set door hinges and latches for over 20 years but that doesn't mean I am an expert it takes day in and day out practice for most of us. Your doing just fine Brother Hang in there, and remember if you can't tell from your photos, most likely we can't either.
Tattter, you might find some lens that an attach to your phone camera. They might help, and are not too expensive. Jim https://www.amazon.com/s?k=CLOSE+UP+LENS+FOR+PHONE&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
The obverse is slightly off center and is a deteriorated die which can cause a doubling effect. and also it looks like a detached lamination. Jim

Do any body got anything I can go buy on the 1982 coins large and small dates the p and d coins I went to the Bank today and ended up with a lot off 82 coins I think the 82 d large date is a double die coin but was trying to get some research on it I really can't find a hole lot about it all it really talks about is that 82 d small date done no all about that coin I know their is a zinc small date reverse double die but that is about all I know.
