Histman Too Many Coins, Not Enough Time!

So for the first time in years, I am going to have an extended period of time off during Christmas. I'm a high school principal and we go out today (Friday). Usually, I get about three days off, but it works out I get a week and a half off this year. So what to do with all the time in the era of COVID? Why not coin roll hunt? I ordered some coins from my bank and am looking forward to going through them. I got two boxes of quarters and six boxes of halves this week and will pick up another six boxes of halves next Wednesday. Probably won't find anything, but it kills the boredom, and hey! It's coins! I'll give you an update when I'm done.

You're lucky that you can go into your bank lobby. I can't without an appointment.

Consider yourself fortunate. I've been to my bank twice now, with much of the same thought in mind (although I just asked for cents, if it makes a difference). I just couldn't get anything.

I was hunting 3 boxes of halves a week for several months this year. When Covid numbers spiked up again I decided to not take unnecessary trips anywhere. CRH is on a break for me. Once numbers get better again I will be back.

I am halfway through a box of halfs and have found two 40% and a gold plated half (?). Plus upgraded several slots with better looking coins. Happy so far. My previous box was a waste of time (except the fun of not knowing whats next).

Actually, using student loan money going towards my doctorate that has to be paid in January. Many of my teachers make more than me, believe it or not.

Thanks for posting. Your results mirror mine (I use smaller quantities). However you are correct, finding treasure is fun, searching for treasure is the best fun.

Yes, I have a really great relationship with the ladies at this bank. I can pretty much order what I want (denominations) right now, although the amount (other than halves) is limited. When I picked up the second set of halves they gave me about $500.00 in customer coin as well. I naturally treat them well throughout the year and especially at Christmas. I know my coin brothers and sisters aren't as lucky as I am in that regard. Come on 2021.
