I know they were available in Kentucky. I have checked the banks in Portland, Maine, NONE. This is an edit...I just went on ebay and rolls are going for over $100. each..There's a lot of nuts out there.
I went to a bank today in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They had the new dollar rolls but no new Lincoln cents.
My several banks say they are not likely to get any soon, due to the glut of boxes of cents they already have on hand that come from their distributors that probably get them from Coinstar etc.
Bingo! No sense in ordering what you already have a few billion of. Working in a coin shop we abviously have "feelers" out all over but nobody has them nor do they know when they'll get them. In the meantime people are psying stupid money on ebay. I wonder what those people will think when the billions that are being minted DO hit the streets?
The same thing they think now about their "Mint Wrapped" rolls of Sacky dollars. They think they're going to be worth something someday.
I have my feelers out in all corners of the market, even asking my hotsauce friends to ask for them at banks, etc, Nothing yet. My uncle in Detroit was promised a brick of $25 but it fell thru. Hold on, these will be available soon enough. Dont go spend silly money to be the first on your block to get them. There will be so many they will become anchors soon enough, dragging all them rolls and boxes around shows. They are only available if you are willing to spend moon money NOW, that will change
Hmmm, I can't seem to find ANY boxes up here in the great white. Not even at the Royal Bank of Canada....
None here yet. I have my requests in for a box at the bank where a friend of mine works. Still waiting.....
To bad the vending machines don't give cents back... Over the past 10 years, the 1st place I always seen the "New Years" coins is our vending machines... I have almost always started getting the new Quarters, Nickels and Dimes in the begining of March, sometimes earlier...
Patience, patience, patience. I cite the WWJ nickels as an example. I went wacky buying rolls of them at premium prices...now they're not worth much more than pocket change.
