I have three Susan B. Anthony dollars - uncirculated. Are they worth anything?

No Sorry, they are only worth face value... And the fun of seeing a confused clerk.

What year and mintmark are the SBAs? If you received them in change then chances are they're worth $1.

Just a year or so back the St. Louis subway system was giving them and Sacajawea dollars in change - I remember getting quite a variety of years.

I think she means a PDS set from 1979 that came with a little pamphlet.

I'd hold on to them. Its only a matter of time when people find them scarcer than they thought

I'd hold on to them also, if for no other reason then they are uncirculated. Welcome to coin talk.

With a total series mintage of around one billion I don't think that time will come any time soon.

I'd hang on to them. They aren't really valuable or anything...but if they are a truly uncirculated PDS set, it would be nice to have.

I think they will melt the ones at the treasury eventually and what is circulating presently isn't much.

If you like em keep em,

If you like em keep em, if not spend them - there is no downside, they will never be rare, never be hard to get, hardly anyone else wants them. If you ever run out I will send you some. They are without a doubt one of the top 3 ugliest coins in US History. I have bought $25 rolls for $24 and then just spend them - that's the only fun there is to them is watching other peoples face when you spend them. Anyone that says they will ever be rare, desirable, hard to get, worth anything must know something I do not. My personal belief is that the Govt. should recall all of them then destroy all of them for the sake of art - the coins design is an insult to U.S. coinage no matter how you look at it. They should also destroy the galvano, the master hubs, and dies and all literature pertaining to the existence of the coin.
So I hope I have not been to illusive about how I feel about this coin and you guy's that are salivating to read me the riot act remember - "I had fun with this, so should you"!

yes they made a ton of em........red book lists mtg at360+million...but when was the last time you came across one in public?..........i figger gubbment pulled them over the years....yes they were ugly, but imo so were barbers..
mint state barbers bring a premium now.....apples n oranges iknow.....
but,why would the mint ever release them again?.....they are 75% copper
n 25% nickel...why wouldnt they melt em?...btw,rb listed sba prices
only under ms65 through 2006($2).....2007 forward, rb lists ms 63 only (2009
    price $3 for ms63)
when something moves 50% in a lower grade, even in red book,i take notice....
to paraphrase warren buffet..."buy when they aint"
but if you do..................steal em right now..............just my opinion

I'm in favor of that. It would make the complete set that I have (including the '79 and '81 Type 2's) a lot more valuable.

I think you mean the train, and they still give you tons of dollar coins. Presidential, these days.

They are worth "at least" a dollar, maybe more depending on condition and demand.

When I started collecting coins, some 4 years ago, it was the SBA that I figured would disappear totally in the next decade. So unwittingly I collected a few hundred dollars worth, after searching a few hundred rolls. Actually found a Near Date or Wide Rim, its circulated but not very badly. Once I started study coins I quickly learned and cashed in all the SBA's, except the Near Date, and purchased true collectibles.

I'll always have a thing for SBA dollars, even though S.B.A. was a horrible choice for a work of art. That was nicely said I think. Any who, these pics are of my SBA collection except for two sets of proof which are not pictured.

    Keep on Collecting!!!

I really like the reverse on this coin... the obverse however, well, let's just say Susan wasn't much to look at. Maybe a little "artistic license" could have soften up those harsh, angular features. As a joke, I tried to sell some SBA's at a flea market... no takers at eighty cents each.. the few offers I had were for 50c apiece, so no sale.
