Looked through about 10 rolls of 1970 S LMC coins and finally found a small date. The fingerprint was already on the otherwise okay looking coin. What is the going rate for a 1970 S SD LMC? Now I know what they look like... ~Rob
The 9 looks right and the weakness at the top of the lettering of liberty Prices are of course subject to condition and whether it is classed as brown, red/brown or red. Check realised or sold prices on e-bay
An awful lot of extreme die polishing going on. Wonder what they were trying to hide, maybe a die clash?
Thanks, Expat... Looked through about 500 1970 S LMC coins to find this one... have about 10 more rolls to look through. Might find another one... or not. ~Rob
Gonna put these attachments here so I can put them on computer to crop... Taken with phone so not best pics...
Here are some full coin pictures... Overhead lighting from phone camera... Ambient lighting with phone camera... Not sure what the haziness is with the bottom two pics... could be a product of the camera. ~Rob
Nice find. A highly sought after but rarely found coin. Scarcer of the Small Date and Large Date varieties. Currently #87 on the top 100 modern US coins
Man,I probably got at least 30 rolls of 70 s cents, searched at least 500 Loomis boxes. Have yet to find a 70s small date. Good find!
Thanks Rage... I have a USB camera which doesn't zoom all the way out to take a whole-coin picture, so when I need a full coin view I use my cell phone. I just try to keep the pics in focus and have overhead light and lighting at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock with some white material to filter/soften the light. I also don't zoom in too far. Was educated about the doom of zoom by @paddyman98. ~Rob
