1926 wheat back. Not the best shape. But certainly not the worst. 20201216_083013.jpg 20201216_083022.jpg

I can certainly think of worse things to find in the trash. A great find.

I can see it now. Mr. P. sticking his metal detector in every trash can in the city.

Laugh all you want about trash can mining. I found an 1892 Barber dime in the trash last year and that wasn't even my best or oldest find last year, that older one was about 2000 years older.

You can have my thrash. I will have more money than you could possibly ever find because I won't have to pay the trash company, yeah...

Some youngsters (millennial) might throw coins away as they don't recognize them as "real" because they've never seen on before.

By any chance that might be some kind of doubling on liberty. Or PMD?

It either took a hit or that's a small die chip. Hard to see for the wear.

Congrats on the find. I bought a Mark Twain silver dollar a while back. I was looking at it in my office and later on, I found I couldn't find it. Stupid me, I had evidently thrown it into the trash and the trash was picked up that day. Maybe someone will be lucky enough to find it, but they will have to go through thousands of tons of garbage at the landfill.
