Did anyone get the new 2009 Lincoln Penny yet?

I have found 1 roll so far and here are the pictures. I just hope my bank teller friend can get me 10 more roll next week!

I didn't get any '09 Lincoln type ones, but I found a DC Quarter in my change!!!! Five more to go!

 

The log cabin depicted on the reverse of the new cent is not the log cabin Lincoln was born in. The cabin shown was simply near the location of the original Lincoln cabin and it isn't even original as shown, having been reduced in size by almost half to more closely what is thought to be the size of the original Lincoln cabin. It was thought for a while that maybe some of the logs in this cabin may have been taken from the original Lincoln cabin but recent tree ring examination has shown that the logs for this cabin were cut some years after Lincoln's birth.

You need to read the fine print, I'd say this is a HOT deal for a Lincoln collector. Think of it as paying $50 for two submissions and the graded coins a free bonus. I could use a couple submissions!

The only downside I see to this a market flooded with these. If your patient, you might see these for 99 cents on feebay soon. LOL So, mainly do it for the free submissions. :smile

 

what's up with the new cent. Went to two banks today and they both said that they were told by the Fed. bank that their wasn't enough and Utah wasn't getting any. I'd have to go to nevada to get them. That's the last thing I'd get if I'm going to vegas.

 

Also Tater, only believe about half of what a bank teller tells you about coins an paper money. To a large extent most of them really don't know what they are talking about.

 

Yep, bank VP told me the same thing today. They said the Fed. branch that delivers to Salt Lake has a huge supply of 08 cents and that it will be a long time before Utah gets the new ones. Bad news for us.

 

Your right, but I've heard it from four different banks. They even posted a not on the front doors of my local brach. The tellers were tired of saying no I guess.

 

I enjoy the short fat guy in the sweater on HSN. He reminds me of a shorter version of Flounder from Animal House.

Looking at the mints site they are not shipping till 03/04/2009...
