Similar scenarios play out in this household every night. Ladymarcovan is usually at the bottom of a pile of critters. I, on the other hand, am a notorious tosser and turner, so they can’t maintain their perch atop me for very long.

Edit: that’s an older picture above. There are five in the bed just now, not counting humans.

Welcome! Consider this post of mine an extra bonus entry for you (I don’t think @Penny Luster will mind).

If the random number generator lands on this post (#542), you’ll win, same as you will if it hits your actual entry post (#540).

Of course there are no older American Liberties at play in this particular round- just British young-head Lizzies with Churchill on the back. Still fun, though.

    I want those!

Newest purchase from an FSR auction. Another one of those types of coins that is loaded with history and wonderment. From the city of Neapolis in Macedonia, a hemi-drachm, minted around 424-350 BC. You know, I feel that way often - the facing Gorgoneion - very often. But so far I've been able to keep it under control. Sorry for the poor photo; that's a job for the weekend.

A hearty congratulations to the winners so far! And a wish and hope to all for a joyous holiday season.

Fun (not really) fact, Churchill led a devastating defeat at the battle of Gallipoli during WW1 against the Ottomans. He was demoted, resigned. For that, he went on to serve in the western front in trenches himself. People can always say good and bad about him. It depends where your thoughts are on all of it.

He was definitely an interesting mixture of good and bad. It’s a wonder he ever made a comeback after the Gallipoli debacle.

Ain’t over ‘til the Fat Lady sings.

Or until I get a chance to do the drawing.

Errands to run out on St. Simons Island. 50-mile round trip. Then grocery store.

Will try to do the drawing this afternoon if I’m not too worn out. If you don’t see me then, look for me in the wee hours of Thursday morning. I still have a tiny bit to do to prepare the Day 12 posting.

Anybody who hasn’t already done so is free to post an entry up until the time of the drawing.

Bandages came off today from Monday’s surgery. Looks good. Barely a mark. I’ll be a little gimpy on my right leg for a while yet, is all.

Mindy says hi. She just typed that while stepping on my phone screen.

Then she proceeded to climb up my chest to nibble on my beard, purring and chirping all the while. Hmm. Maybe they’re hungry.

That’s her in the foreground, just now. Twin brother Mork in the background.

Or so I think. It’s impossible to tell them apart unless you look at their feet. Mindy’s are white, Mork’s are grey.
