Very COOL examples, 'Q' and '7-C' !!! Unfortunately for me, my 'Hieron' coins were reluctantly sold quite a number of years ago---I'm still trying to catch up where I once was over five years ago... Well, you do whatever is necessary, I guess...however many tears it brings to your eyes LOL
@ coin-friend Marsyas.. After 5 years, I find out that my coin above was struck in Berytus (Beirut) and not Anchiaslus. That was my mistake. Cheers.
Well either way, it is a very nice coin, 7Calbrey! The reason I was poking around old threads and leaving "likes" was because yesterday I got a Heiron II Posiedon issue from Syracuse. My local dealer had it in his new ancients stock - usually his stuff is out of my price range, but he only wanted $20 for this one, so what the heck. Whenever I get something new, I poke around old threads to see what else is out there. Here's mine: Syracuse Litra (Æ 17) Hieron II (c. 274-216 B.C.) Diademed head of Poseidon left / IEPΩ-NOΣ, ornamented trident head flanked by two dolphins; Δ(A? or P?) lower right. BAR Issue 60; HGC 2, 1550. Note: ΔP or ΔA possible for letters at lower right reverse. (8.16 grams / 17 mm )
the coin has been slightly tooled and smoothed but to me it is a good job : The integrity is preserved and the coin looks really great.
