Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong place, i'm new at this LOL My father gave me a bunch of Candian Dimes (silver i think) How do i know if i have any that are worth anything?? Any help would be great! Thanks
Welcome to COintalk! Part of 1968 is silver and there are Ottowa(silver and nickel) and Phillidelphia mints(nickel). You can tell by the reeding on the edge for mint. Everything else before is silver. 1969 has 3 known for lg. date and lg. ship, value very high, but only 3 known.
Hi, Depends on the year. Prior to 1920 they were Sterling Silver (.925 fine) and worth about $1US in Silver. 1920-1967 They were .800 Fine and are worth, as of today, 85c US each Melt. 67-68 50% Silver (.500 fine) are worth $.52US each melt. 1969+ are worth 10c CDN Obviously nice or key date ones are worth more than dead melt.
I put together a nice set a few years ago. Most of my price checks and research was done from Calgary Coin's website. Try this link: http://www.calgarycoin.com/modern/cd10cent.htm
