I found 2 interesting errors on my 1955-S wheatie. The first is that it is clearly a little off center. Another is that the B in Liberty has a starburst effect, and occured during minting. Can anyone tell me if this is a variety? Is this a common error, or a great find? Is it worth more? Here's a pic, let me know: Thanks
There;s really nothing on your coin of anything of significance that i see looks like a normal coin to me Alien JAZEC
I wouldn't consider it off center unless a section of the rim is gone. This doesn't qualify. [My definition - not necessarily Error Collectors' definition] The effect by the B is only an artifact of the metal stretching at that point and is not unusual or rare.
I agree. If the reverse is centered, you have a slight misaligned die error, but not quite enough to really make it a keeper. Keep looking!
What's the reverse look like? Sometimes it will be off like the obverse and if it is it could be a off-center strike.
