I have a 1864 2 cent piece that has a off rotated reverse. when you turn over the shield side to the 2 cent side the 2 cent side id left rotated about to the 10 o'clock position. I cant find anything that refers to this kind of error or whatever. Thanks for any help!!!!
The die varieties for 1864 2 cent pieces are very numerous with everything from die rotation to repunched dates to double die. You can pick up a book on two cent pieces that covers the gambit of varieties.
Die rotation happened a lot on 2cent pieces....most of the time they have to be rotated more than 15o before they are worth more than the coin value. Speedy
