Its a really cool looking bird, I like the color of his beak. I bet they have some great birds at the central park zoo.
all 4 zoos have terrific aviaris, the Prospect Park (brooklyn), Central Park, Flushing(queens) and the Bronx Zoo. The Bronx Zoo has the "World of Birds" exhibit which is not to be missed. And when I was in Milwaukee, their zoo also had very nice aviaries. I plucked a nice Idaho Quarter out of circulation today. It has a nice bird on it as well. Ruben
Yeah that 'world of birds' thing sounds very cool. I visited the central park zoo very briefly when I was 12 years old or so....I remember none of it. That's a beautiful proof, is it gold?
I like the kooks myself. I wish I had the one with the German Privy Mark - the Brandenburg Gate, but I forget which year it was minted. It seems to be it was an earlier date.
Ah, well that falcon coin from Kurdistan is gorgeous, I'd love to visit New York City again, don't know when I will be able to though. Wreidjr, the privy mark ones sound interesting, I dont have any, but I do fancy them.
Ah - you also love the birds! http://www2.mrbrklyn.com/images/passover_2008_zoo_shani_bithday/dsc04565.jpg http://www2.mrbrklyn.com/images/passover_2008_zoo_shani_bithday/dsc04592.jpg
I once studied the Birds of New England...did you know that the State Bird of Massachusetts the Black Capped Chickadee has a memeory retention of seed hiding up to 1500 hiding locations!! That is astounding for such a small creature!! RickieB
