I'm thinking Belize to South Africa is more than a bit of a stretch. Does anyone see it as valid? Nice five-shilling nonetheless.

 

Perhaps you should ask that navigator who found a straight line from Scotland to Russia...

 

I refer you to the fourth post from bottom on the previous page where all was explained. The earth isn't flat.

Uh, I have sailed around the world on the water, went to sea for 35 years. I suspected your route was over the pole, and I did not have a globe handy here to see that. Thanks for showing that.

 

This is the shortest route by air.

If you allow for the curvicture of the globe there is a direct route without passing through other countries and not taking any major turns.

 

I want to get a globe and stretch a string from country A to country B. That would show the real deal. Here is a 2018 Brazil 25 centavos

Well if we use the air routes and technically are not going through another country to get to desired goal; what's the point of the game? Do we not necessarily respect
the air space of the countries we might overfly?
Granted one can go from Belize to South Africa via a circuitous sea route, so why fly? I reckon the folks in the Windward Island group wouldn't mind so much as one would just be "passing by" so to speak.

 

Even close than Miami, is Cancun.

I was showing the air route as an example, it is possible to do it via a sea route without touching other countries if you take into consideration the curvature of the earth.
My second example shows the sea route but I cannot show the curve because the map is flat.
