Oh hail, all you folks with uber-patience and self control are driving me NUTS! I'll break the ice so others can post.

Santa made an early stop at the Zoid workplace yesterday. He dropped this off . . . . .

Being the ever impatient soul that I am, and the fact that the only thing "obscuring" the contents of the bag were a couple thin sheets of wrapping tissue, I poked about a bit and found these . . . . . . .

THIS Secret Santa did his homework. Seems Santa did a little research on the Zoid an discovered that he likes his exonumia, architectural medals, and unusual World Coinage.

As this was my FIRST YEAR participating in Operation Covert Nickolas, I was not attuned to the level of research required. Mea culpa to Zoid's recipient and I promise to do better next year . . . . .

Anyway, here is a copy of the note received with my gift. Santa does a better job at "eslplaining" the contents than I can.

    All I can say Santa, is . . . . . . .

I even bought an "unusual coin" in honor of YOU! I am awaiting it's arrival.

I promise to take better photos of the coins received and post them early next week. Work has been getting in the way of my "quality CT time." Those coins received are way too cool. Much appreciated.

    Now, everyone, start posting YOURS . . . . . . .

I feel bad for dropping that horrible photo and running. I've seen better "what kind of mint error is this" photos in the error coin section.

I pinky swear to post better pictures early next week.

I've been meaning to do some more research on that one in particular. What can you share about it? When was it minted? How many made?

    Inquiring minds and all . . . .

@micbraun answer your private message :p and @iPen we are waiting on either more participants, or for someone to message me saying they want to do two secret santas. If you're late to the game, please don't message here saying it, so your recipients don't know who you are!

Sorry on the delay folks, I've been busy. I've messaged everyone their tracking numbers, and alerted our awesome Santas when their packages arrive. Please respond to let me know you've gotten my messages so I can check you off my list!

Friends, I am one Secret Santa short of allowing another two people to join and send/receive anonymously. If you'd like to do a second SS go, please message me ASAP. If I don't hear from anyone by morning, I'm afraid I'll have to officially close down the invite list.

    Hoping another Santa steps up.

As promised, I took MUCH better photos (well, maybe slightly better) of the coins my Secret Santa sent me. Operation Covert Nickolas is in full swing . . . . . . .

Starting at the top of the list, here are better photos of the Montgolfier Brothers TWA medallion. I don't think that I have many double profile strikes like this one. Me likey . . . . . .

I think the engraving on this medal is fantastic, especially for a "give away" piece by TWA. It's also neat to have a memento from a long defunct piece of American Aviation as well.

    Thanks Santa.

Next on the list is the bronze Abe Lincoln medal from the U.S. Mint. Having grown up in the Land of Lincoln, this piece is pretty near and dear to my youth.

    Thanks again Santa.

Here is the 2004 Maui-wowie Trade Dollar that Santa provided. From the geographic distribution of these pieces, one can tell that Santa really is a "world traveller." I have the feeling that this little Trade Dollar is as close to Hawaii as Zoid will ever get. I can hear the sea just putting this strike up to my ear . . . . .

    Thanks again Santa

My first ever Galapagos Island coin! Gotta love the Booby on the reverse!

This coin was minted one year only, 2008. It has a Numista rarity index of 53, which is pretty cool. It's listed as "exonumia" and a fantasy coin. It's even listed in the 2005 edition of "Unusual World Coins", so then there's that.

    Thanks again Santa.

And then there's the 1924 Cologne Expo Medal. This is really a cool piece. It shows a bit of history in it's complexion. It's a verified WWII bring back, which in and of itself adds to it's desirability.

The best description of the piece is from Santa himself in his note to me above. I love the detail on the boat side. I'm calling that the "obverse." All the details described above are very clearly visible.

Uber thanks for this one Santa. I'm self slabbing most of these, but especially this one.

    Zoid
