I just wanted to share images of the newest member of my U.S. Typeset. As my dates get earlier, they get harder to acquire.
VERY nice coin. I've got a full date set of its younger (and less expensive) siblings, the Variety 2 quarters.
Better than very nice. Its hard to be sure from the photos, but I believe its a B-5 (Browning) with rarity of 4+ very scarce (76-117 known). Look for a "unknown build up of metal adhering to and around Miss Liberty's cleavage" (Rea et al., p. 97). Grade wise it would be around 24 best as listed in Early Quarters Dollars of the United States Mint, 1796-1838, by Rea, Dr Peterson, Karoleff and Kovach Jr. (my bible)
