I found this coin in my yard while digging up an old brick patio. I cannot imagine what it is or where it came from. Besides the obvious inscriptions shown in the picture, there is a tiny "E1" or number "13". What is that? Is this really old or just dirty? Apologies for being so ignorant! Any information will be much appreciated.
This is the only info i could find on it. http://www.ukdfd.co.uk/ukdfddata/showrecords.php?product=3613
Interesting find....and a great research link as well.....an English what-da-ya-call it, in Tennessee. I hope Aiden pipes in...this seems like his expertise.
This has been discussed here before: http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t4941/ If it is pretty small, then it's probably play money for kids. Ribbit
I'm going to guess that it is about 130 years old, about midway between Cvil War and 1900. Though probably not of high value, it is interesting to view and the links were very helpful. : )
