    I believe they're talking about the monetary equivalent in today's pounds of the 24 pounds in total face value of the discovered coins. Not their numismatic value.

    After all, assuming they're in decent condition, they have to be worth at least a couple of thousand pounds apiece, right?

    That sounds very modest :cool:. The coins pictured look near mint state.
