Another Late Medieval Coin Hoard found in G.B.

This hoard consists of 63 different gold coins was found in a garden ! The estimated value of 14,000 B.P. sounds very low to me . It's been reported that 47,000 finds have been reported in G.B. this year ! The only finds I've stumbled on are bottle caps & loose coins .

I believe they're talking about the monetary equivalent in today's pounds of the 24 pounds in total face value of the discovered coins. Not their numismatic value.

 

That makes more sense .

 

After all, assuming they're in decent condition, they have to be worth at least a couple of thousand pounds apiece, right?

 

That sounds very modest . The coins pictured look near mint state.
