So I have been asked to help a friend who recently inherited a rather large accumulation of coins. I want to say it is a rather extensive collection but it is hard to say just yet as most of what I am seeing is a hoarding of coins, no displays or books just rolls and rolls of coins, some in flips, some in old coin envelopes. Anyways so I was going thru the Lincoln cents right now and trying to get them ready for selling and I came across this little lamination error. Extreme Lamination errors all over the obv of the coin: And rev looks like it was struck thru grease: I look forward to seeing what you guys think of this coin and I will continue to post the curiosities I continue to find.
It's so Ugly , I love it . It screams early Error . like the Lam. on the obverse but what's that on the reverse ?
Looks like it was struck thru grease, which is why ON is missing from the ONE and part of the top left of the E is mushed.
A 1938S-1MM-001 S/S North verified off of coppercoins.com. Has some nice rainbow toning but I'm having a heck of a time capturing it:
