No one knows what the nose knows but the nose knows what the nose knows.

What I don't understand is 50 years ago the 1 kopeck was almost certainly a copper alloy, Copper is a biologically reactive metal. It should have caused all kinds of pain and abscesses etc. How could he tolerate that being up there that long?

    Boy in bank:
Mommy, doesn't that man have a funny nose?

    Mother in bank:
You mustn't make fun of the gentleman, Clifford. You'd like to have a nose like that full of nickels, wouldn't you?

How much will this go for in auction? Looks like it needs a special "The Nose Kopek" slab.

And here's the birth of a new euphemism: "Digging for kopeks..."

There was a story of a very young toddler in Australia who got a 1958 3p stuck in his voicebox and was never able to speak. In his mid-20's a doctor finally xRayed and found it. A simple procedure and the man could speak normally.

huh, you would think that when he needed to blow his nose it would have come out, you know because there is plenty of natural lubricant (aka snot) up there, or a good sneeze. man it must have been way on up there....

Nasal anatomy is kind of surprising. There's a lot more room in there than you'd think. (Also, we actually have four nostrils.)

This is why r/coins on Reddit has that as a rule.

The kopeks were an aluminum bronze mixture. Even in 1970's era Soviet mintsets they often corrode in the packaging.
