I’ve been reading posts here for a while, reading books, watching videos, etc., trying to learn some things about coin collecting and have even started a small collection. I hate to admit, but I might have become a little obsessed with error coins. Or trying to find them. I came across this penny today and wanted to get your opinions.

I purchased a digital microscope but I’m unable to upload the photos to a computer so I took pics of the screen. I hope they will be good enough.

It looks like the back of a dime is imprinted on the front of this penny. I’m not sure what’s going on on the back.

    I appreciate any input!

    Thank you!!

It’s a vise job...the dime design is backwards, meaning, the olive branches are on the right where they should be on the left for a proper strike...someone with too much time on their hands...Spark

It is clearly a Vice job. Damaged altered Cent.. Not a Mint Error of any kind.

Looks like someone was having fun squeezing a dime onto a cent. E-Pluribus unum is backwards. Took a lot of pressure.

If the secondary image is incuse (recessed into the surface) and the letters are backwards, that means it is a vice job (sandwiched between two dimes and squeezed in a vice

To tell you the truth, I never got that far...but this appears to be a dime on the obverse, Jefferson on the reverse Vice Job.

As soon as I saw the obverse I knew...and Jefferson is backwards too...Spark
