Anyone have a clue as to what the proof set with the Four 1 cent coins is going to cost or a rough guess? I am trying to convince the wife to let me get it and without a rough guess she is going to shoot me down. Ice
Price Hello Ice, I read that the Lincoln Commemorative Silver dollar is going to be a few bucks cheaper than last year's bald eagle. Figure about $36.00. If the new cents are added to it, I'd guess it will sell in the mid forties. I'm thinking about the Lincoln dollar because I'm a big fan, but I'm not crazy about the portrait. What happened to realism? By the way, I picked up a sheet of Lincoln stamps today. The mint released them today, four different types. Nice looking stamps. You may want to get a sheet to pair up with the coins. Best of luck. Revenue
Ten times more than that, actually. Total mintage limit (sum total of proof and uncirculated) is 500,000, not 50,000, as per the Mint's website. No word on the cents yet. I imagine they will be sold separately, when they are (and probably will also be included in the 2009 proof set). No mention of the cents on the site but the proof set is scheduled for release in "Spring" (no specific date yet).
Got my order in at 12:11...7 Proofs and 5 Uncirculated...3 each are for me and the rest are for some co-workers...Also ordered the Presidential proof set while I was on. Looks like these coins are selling like hot cakes!
For the first time ever, I got in, ordered and got out without any hangups! Never happens. Took me less than a minute. And that was about 12:15.
Well I'm paying for coins, not packaging, so I tend to ignore "special sets" that the Mint puts out, and just get whatever the cheapest package is that contains the coins I want.
I got two of each uncircs and proof. I have 5 free slabbing coupons so the best of each (unc and proof) will be sent in to be slabbed and the other two will stay in the original package.
The set I am talking about will have the Lincoln Silver Dollar with each of the new pennies in PROOF only. This 5 coin set will be limited to 50,000. The only other way to get the proof pennies will be in the PROOF Sets. The Proof Clad Set would be the cheapest if you just wanted the new Pennies. I'll be getting as many as those 5 coin sets as I can. The first PR70's will bring big $$$$$$$$$$
Do you think NGC will do a special multi-coin slab for these? What would be the charge for slabbing a set?
I ordered my Lincolns today as most of you did, the Mint's website was a little slow at 12:05PM but I didn't have any problems. I'd like to see a date for the 5 coin set as well as the Silver Eagles for this year.
NGC has nice multi-set holders and I'm sure they will have a nice holder for these, no doubt about it.
Thats the problem...everyone wants one and the mintages will be high. All I have seen on the Mints Website is a "+" next to mintages. Is it unlimited or subject to change by the Sec of Treasury? RickieB
Lincoln Comm I got in about 1:30 today and ordered a proof. The delivery date is 2/19. Anyone get an earlier delivery date? Also what's the guess about whether the proof or uncirc. will be more popular?
