this one I found im my jar of penny's collected from the am pm stores. I wonder if this qualify as a 1955 DD , in person it looks better than the pictures shows , but only the last 5 is doubled
Sorry but no. I don't see any doubling. All I see is remnants of luster around the letters and numerals.
Rlm is correct. The appearance of doubling on the last "5" is due to wear on the die. They are very common, but on ebay they will try to convince you they are rare :computer: Jim
OK. I see the "doubling" on the last 5 now. I missed it before. I thought the question was about the luster around the digits. My bad.
I heard the term poor mans DD before ....well I'm a proud owner of a poor mans treasure then.... thanks for the input.... but I'm telling you it sure made my heart skip a few beats when I adjusted the focus and BAM could it be !!.... well almost thanks for the info
really close up maybe a triple poormans this is a really close up, maybe a triple poormans ...richer than I thought. I made marks as to what I can see that the camera did not catch do to the type of lighting .... light under scope is a mirror reflector and any other light put out wierd colors.... well at least it has good luster, I will try to get a better one later in life ....maybe a tru DD. thanks
Also last night I online ordered a microscope camera .... putting my digital against the eye piece really does not do justice to the coins I show ,even if they are not in best of shape .... it just amplifies the errors.
