A beautiful coin and a wonderful example of an early overdate Large Cent. AU-55 I believe and this is considered a scarce overdate.
Wow Dave!! How many more treasures are going to come out of those storage boxes? That cent is spectacular.
Not sure but I'll be posting a few Bust Halves. After that I have 2 new boxes to go through. I can't even remember what's in them and they arrived last week. Lol
Difficult to capture on my cell phone camera. In hand it's not as shiny. Looks shiny on film but not in hand. Me, the camera phone and lighting all make this coin look different than it really is.
If polished, which it's not, just looks like it in the photos, would lower the value as it's been tampered with.
1819 N-1 Yes it is an overdate, but no it isn't a rare overdate. 1819 N-1 is an R-1+ coin with many MS coins known. It is common enough that it doesn't really bring a premium over the other 1819 varieties. Sharpness grade on this coin is high, but the image makes it appear to have been cleaned/polished.
