At first I thought I really had a nice find but doing research not sure what I have now.. lol. While roll hunting I saw this coin while observing all coins on edge when first removed from roll. This coin stuck out like a sore thumb since it is so much thinner. I don't understand why there is no edging, this coin is smooth all the way around and has little flaring out on the edging. If someone took the time to remove the edging they did it perfectly. This coin is perfectly round. It weighs 11.119 grams and the average grams on 4 regular Kennedy half's ranged from 11.123 to 11.263 and USA Coin bk says the coin weighs 11.35 grams. diameter should be 2.15 MM but this coin is 1.91 MM. So what do I have here? Thanks.

...but, but, but, it's a 1997-P half. I recall slot machines using coins in the early '90s. I don't recall any using half dollars, though. I used to have to lug around a bucket full of quarters.
I stayed at the Rio in Vegas shortly after it opened in the early '90s. I wanted free drinks, but the girls moved too fast past the quarter machines for me to order. Fortunately, the Rio had video poker machines built into the bars. As long as I played the machines, the bartender would keep the free drinks flowing. These particular machines had a stainless steel box the payout would fall into...making a loud noise for the bartender to hear. Coincidentally, it was also the place where the coin return emptied into. I would put three quarters in, hit "coin return", and do it again...until I received all the free booze I could handle.
