That is weird... I've actually never seen anything like that but I'd assume it's PMD (Post Mint Damage)

First, welcome to the neighborhood, Jennifer!

It is just a Crappy Zincoln with die deterioration doubling. The Mint came up with the bonehead idea of making the cent with 97.5% zinc in 1982. Now, you will find there are myriad ways that these coins can deteriorate.

That is a Worn Die Issue.
    Called Die Deterioration doubling..

Nothing to do with a true Doubled Die variety if that's what you meant by the DD in your title.

It's worthless doubling. Keep it for educational purposes.

I must admit I have been collecting old coins for many years throw in a little bag tossed in the bottom of my jewelry box I have since taken them out!! Anyhow I had about 40 pounds of change that I saved in a piggy bank and I couldn’t turn it in without looking at the coins..... I see coin collecting can be very addicting!! I suppose there are worse things to be addicted to!!! Hahha! Thank you for the welcoming!!!!

Welcome to CT. The Cent is Zinc with a thin copper coating. When a Die becomes worn from use it creates Cents that look like yours.
