    Thanks. :)
Don't worry, I've got worse. William II first issue (portrait right) tends to appear in reasonable condition strikewise, with well engraved portraits and a decent depth of strike. However, things go progressively downhill through the reign, with the result that by the time you get to type 5, the coins are fairly uniformly unattractive. Occasionally you will get a well executed piece, and that will fly. My type 5 was only purchased this year from CNG, but as one of only two known from the mint for this type and with a decent provenance, seemed a sensible purchase. GOLD ON RVMNE. For all its ugliness, I didn't get a discount ;)

Another Romanian for @PaulTudor, a small coin from Stefan the Great's son and successor, when things in Moldavia started to go downhill. This post is really only for eccentrics who like very obscure rulers and their coins. This gros is not in great condition.

MOLDAVIA Bogdan III the Blind Gros n.d.(1504-17) Type I

In 1510 Moldavia suffered two major Tatar devastations (they are alleged to have carried away 74,000 as slaves) and in 1511 the Tatars occupied most of the country. The events forced Poland, still recovering from its own Tatar invasion of 1506, to send troops as aid, helping Bogdan regain his lands after a victory in May 1512.

In 1514, in order to block the Tatar threat by enlisting the help of a powerful overlord, Bogdan sent chancellor Tăutu to negotiate the terms of Moldavia's submission to the Ottoman Empire under Selim I.

Constantinople demanded that a certain sum (initially expressed as 4,000 gold coins) be paid yearly, together with a ceremonial gift of 40 horses and 40 falcons, some additional expenses (such as for the celebration of the Muslim festival Eid ul-Fitr) and assistance in case of war. Princes themselves were required to lead a 4,000-strong army that would place itself under the orders of the Sultan. In exchange for these, Moldavia was allowed a high level of autonomy (Wikipedia).

Bogdan lost one eye in battle, hence his name Bogdan the Blind, making him eligible for this thread.

The actual year of minting is in the stars on the reverse (1965)
Adopting the title of “El Caudillo” (The Leader), Franco persecuted political opponents, repressed the culture and language of Spain's Basque and Catalan regions, censured the media and otherwise exerted absolute control over the country.

Correct. And yet, strangely, he is still revered in parts of Spain. When we take clients to view mountain properties for sale, some of the village bars have a large oil painting of him behind the bar and some of the older patrons bow and remove their caps before passing it.
