I've been traveling the last few weeks and picked up some really neat world coins, tokens, and even a tonned ASE. Can you guess which country uses the small denomination coins in this photo? This country has three larger denomination coins in circulation which are all three bi-metallic.

    Very best regards,

The coins depicted did not come from the Czech Republic, Australia, Great Britain, or Uganda. (I've been to Czech, Great Britain, and a couple African countries like Togo & Benin. I've never been to Uganda)

Here is a hint: From the USA, you don't need to cross an ocean to spend these coins in the photo.

I thought that the edge was cool enough to post the photo. The flats on the coins resemble the flats on a nut.

    Dinero from Mexico

    Hola Spock1K,

Si, Esta monedas (Numismatica ejemplo) de Mexico.

That is my attempt at saying yes, it is coins from Mexico. The photo shows a stack of 20 Centavo coins. There is apparently also a 10 Centavo circulating but I only received one of them in change.

Mexico currently has 1, 5, and 10 Peso coins circulating which are bi-metallic. Here is a photo of the 10 Peso bi-metal.

    Very best regards,

Canada did use that style edge on their one cent pieces for a few years. Also on their five cent piece for awhile back in the 1950's.
