I think that all of us with young children and grandchildren are horrified when something as serious as a dog attack. My prayers are with him and his family. When I was 7 (65 years ago, I was attacked and bitten by a large black dog. From what I was told, the dog belonged to the family of a neighbor and they were out on a walk. My family tried to find the dog and could not find it. It seems that they were hiding the dog to avoid the horrible rabies tests in 1953. Since they could not get the dog to check, I had to be hospitalized and have 21 rabies shots in my stomach. The dog was never found, but there was one bit of something good. My mother bought me some Howdy Doody pajamas. Howdy Doody was on the pocket, so when the pajamas wore out, I had my mother sew the Howdy Doody pocket on my new pajamas. Also, I have 5 dogs. They are fenced in and the gates are locked to avoid an accidental or intended entry into the fenced in area. My neighbor does not and he has a pit and a bull terrier of some sort and they constantly are out of their fence. Luckily, we live down a dirt road about .9 miles from the paved road. Anyway, dog attacks are constantly happening, but when they happen to someone you know or know about, it hurts the worse. Thanks for letting us know.
My neighbor was attacked this spring and had to have 90 stitches in her arm, leg, and torso. They knew where the dog was located, but were told by animal control they couldn't do anything until there 3 confirmed cases of a dog being aggressive.
He’s out of surgery and everything went well. Waiting for the anesthesia to wear off and for him to be able to walk and eat. If he does all that, we can go home tonight. Thanks everyone for the support. Been a helluva 2 weeks. Let’s not have any more nasty surprises for the rest of the year.
So glad to hear everything went well. I second that "good riddance " 2020!! Forward. (Wisconsin's motto) onto 2021. Rest well Braeden and family.
So good to read that the surgery is over, went well and Braeden will be home tonight. Wishing him a quick and perfect recovery and all your family a good rest after these stressful 2 weeks.
We just got home a little bit ago. He is definitely feeling better already. Sore...but who wouldn't be after getting 3 holes put in you and having an organ ripped out? He's set up on the couch and relaxing now. I think I might crash here soon. It's been a long 48 hours.
