In my opinion THIS is the ultimate type note. I am a big fan of the treasury notes but this silver certificate combines the allure of the 1890 $2 with the clean crisp look of the silver certificate. The ultimate engraving work done by a master with his own hands.
That sure is a beautiful note! I love how they did the borders on the fronts back in those days. Don't see that anymore.
Yes! This is a note that really needs to be studied. The closer you look at the engraving the more impressive it it. Here is a close up of just a small corner. I like the color of the seal as well.
back then, every aspect of the notes design was truly a work of art!!! very skilfully done!!!! a real beauty
I got confused as to what you were trying to say, then I re-read your statement and noted what you meant! At least you didn't say "I love how they did the borders on the backs front in those days." as I would have been totally confused! :hammer: Frank
You can cut this bill into 20 pictures and each one would have a unique charachter/embellishment. One of the most beautiful pieces of currency printed.
I thought that the 26 ONEs and 1s on the FunnyBack were overkill, but this baby has 51 (Fifty-One !) TWOs and 2s - 47 on front and (only) 4 on the back.
Hey Brian.... Great note for sure! On the Life list so to speak...LOL Whats up with the graded note? Am I missing something?? Beautiful indeed! RickieB
