2020 D 1c Lincoln's eye?

    Was this caused by blistering? Or am I just behind the times with lock down and miss the news?...lol

    I don't see any blistering . Just looks damaged

    Strange how it lines up with the die lines from top of forehead down to the neck. Was planchet damaged and then struck?

    No, probably not . More likely occurred after sometime. No added Value .
    • Striations - Raised lines on coins that are caused by the incuse polish lines on a die. These tend to be fine, parallel lines, although they can be swirling or even criss- crossed . Planchet striations are burnishing lines that are not struck away by the minting process and appear as incuse lines on the coins.

    Is that what happened with the speared bison or wounded eagle or were those caused by a die crack?

    Iv'e heard of them but not too familiar , sounds like Die gouges to me though .
