Hello! I recently got a great batch of coins that took over 2 months to arrive from Portugal.

Among them is this, which was sold identified as an "Ancient Roman As Imperial Eagle."

It was like $12, and I really liked the design. In-hand it seems to have a reasonable amount of silver in the alloy.

The images seem to match the description of a tetradrachm, especially since it is: a) billon, b) has that eagle, c) has Greek letters.

But many of the imperial tets tend to have an emperor's bust, not what appears to be Apollo.

I could also be completely wrong and it features a female empress instead.

I scrolled through the entire Wildwinds page on Alexandria, but couldn't find a match :(

Huh. I was completely off, but in this case I suppose I don’t mind that it’s cited as “extremely rare!”

    neat!
