https://answers.usmint.gov/cgi-bin/...nMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=&p_topview=1 The United States Mint has adopted a new 7-day return policy. I dont like this. I think the mint should replace any product as long as the mint has the item in stock. Also, the mint should have a 90 day return policy for any product. The mint should 'buy' the product back at their current price or the 'sold' price. Whichever is lower.
That bites. I guess I'm stuck with the 2008 Silver Proof Set that has a broken case and damaged coins and the 2008 Mint Sets with scratched coins. I thought I had more than a week to return them. Because of this I may not order nearly as much stuff from the Mint.
This is designed to prevent the flippers from sending back everything that does not slab at a 70 .....blame those folks. No more " PCGS " grace period.
I think the real concern is the returning of gold or platinum coins whose prices have move lower under the new pricing policy. The mint would have a serious revolving door with folks returning coins and then reordering if the price went down.
excellent point and since they reprice weekly or can reprice weekly hence the 7 day return policy to avoid arbitrage
the mint should allow 30 day return policy for all products except those bullion related items. 7 day return policy for bullion coin is wrong. the mint should log in those bullion related products and can not be return nor exchange. all other products can not be return if the coin or case have been open or change. simply as that.
Precisely, the mint even said they were deciding how to deal with this problem when they announced the new pricing policy. This is how they decided to do it.
...still though, they stopped reimbursing shipping. If I buy a defective product online the seller usually picks up return shipping.
spots on Lincolns and Sac dollars (which used to be common but are not as common anymore). I'd say spots constitute a defect, also cracked plastic. Maybe the mint should look at the coins to decide if they are legitimately defective, if they are legit returns give me my postage money back. That being said, I used to have to return about a half of the coins I ordered, recently I have returned none.
