Yes.. It's a real copper plated zinc cent which its Copper plating has been Compromised. The inner zinc is rotting. It's one normal struck Cent with Environmental Damage. Not a mint error of any kind.
Here are some metal detected coins I have found. Copper plated zinc cents don't last that long when exposed to the elements.
I have a number of ugly rotting ones as well. It's the zinc and yours is no exception. Chalk it up to environmentally damaged.
