A few scrapes, a couple of dings and one larger ding on the rim at 2:00 o'clock. Only 1,011,000 minted with less surviving today. Not bad for a $15.00 coin from my LCS. A nice semi-key date in the junk pile.

    For $15, I'd buy it.
The cheapest Peace Dollars my LCS has are like $20+

My favorite dollar design and I'll take all I can get at that price no matter the date or MM. Nice find and great pickup.

I think this is the third toughest coin in the series. Only the 1921 and the 1928 are harder to find. I couldn't believe the price so I asked and they confirmed it. So I did the only think I could do, I bought it! :)

Why did you ask, never ask. Just buy it and hightail it out of there .:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Good coin and good price. I figure they paid $10, so they don't look beyond that. Maybe it was too scratched up, or they don't have time to examine every coin. In F-12 $85 retail.

He's an honest dealer and I want to maintain a solid relationship with him. :)

The dealers buy whole collections, and the key coins are what they are making their money on. Much of the other stuff like this nicked up 34-S just ends up in the
bargain bin. It may have been a mistake, or not. My guy used to give out HIGH MS cents in change (mid 1960's). There wasn't anything he could do with them, so he was spending them at face value. Even at $15 he's making a profit on this coin, and keeping a long term customer happy who will be back scouring for more cherry picks. It's win/win.

I sure don't know how it made its way to the junk value pricing but I did ask and he said fine so now it's mine at a good price. Yes, it is a win/win.
