hello, i found this coin in my collection, and form what i rememeber, my grandmother gave it to me when i was 4 or 5, now im not sure of value, and id like to know the value of it, but id also like to know a little history behind the coin, here are some pics. Head Tail Input is Greatly Appreciated
I'd say the value of something handed down to you from your grandmother would be priceless. On the other hand, you could probably sell it for $8-$12 bucks. Here is a little history... LINK (click here)

Here's the US mint's take on the peace: http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/mint_history/index.cfm?flash=yes&action=peace_dollar I'm not good enough at grading to tell for sure about yours, but a 23 peace in au to low mint sate uncirculated retails for around $20. Personally, I think they are one of the prettiest of US coins- they have a nice size and heft.
