So this weekend me and my boys was able to find some uncirculated mint sets for cheap at a flee market. As we started opening and looking at them under the microscope before putting them in there collection books. My oldest found these two dimes. Just curious what would cause this. The one my son has nicknames the crying Rosevelt LOL thanks for any info you can give us

Just some die chips/extra metal and other neat little things worth 10 cents.

I see small die chips , actually a whole bag of die chips, lol . The edge is damaged or PMD ( post mint damaged ) .

Those lines on the edge were caused by a sharp object to the coin or coinstar still just damage.

These were out of mint sets. How did they see a coinstar.

As for the lines. It is not uncommon to have damage arising from the perforation machine.

I agree.. Those lines on the edge were caused by the sealing of the Dime into the mint sets.
