The higher denomination coins are a mix of 2007, 2010, and 2015, but all in the same condition.

I guess you live somewhere on the Eastern Seaboard if you have a Harris-Teeter. Anyway, the last time I found Bahamian coinage in a coin counting machine was when I lived in Jacksonville, Florida. The part of Jacksonville I lived in was about 20 minutes away from the nearest cruise terminal. The Bahamas typically experiences a large volume of American tourists, which can be explained by its proximity to the Eastern Seaboard and Florida in particular.

Yesterday I found 2 Zincolns stuck together, a play money dime, and a Chuck E. Cheese token. That's been my luck. Usually the reject bins I see are empty.

Oh, yeah, I did find two stuck-together cents in the H-T reject slot last night. I left them.

Didn't find anything in the Coinstar reject tray, but this pretty decent 1936 cent was laying on the floor by the machine. 006.jpg 005.jpg

Speaking of Bahamian coins, I found this earlier today on top of the coin counting machine at my local credit union.

This was a weird find, usually I find coins in the coin machine reject slot, or on the sorting tray. Sometimes you find them under the machine. But several years ago a credit union teller was telling me that her very tall boyfriend noticed that people sometimes throw rejected coins up on top of the machine. So I started checking that - last Wednesday I found this in a sandwich baggy up on top of the coin machine:

I have gotten coins off the top of a vending machine a couple times.

I'm tall enough to see the top of some vending machines. I've seen change up there once or twice, but not often enough to get in the habit of checking.

I feel self-conscious enough side-eyeing the CoinStar reject slot as I slowly walk by. I don't think I'll be groping around on top of the machine. (Besides, the one thing I always do see on high surfaces like that is dust -- lots and lots and lots of dust.)

That describes me perfectly @-jeffB! I still do look, but feel like the Walmart Customer Service reps are giving me the stink eye, lol.

You guys worry too much about what others think of you. Get comfortable in your own skin and stand tall and proud. If what I'm doing isn't harming, belittling or insulting someone else, IDGAF what they think of me.

One thing I am on board with @jeffB is your comment about the dust. Yeah, that can be thick, thicker and sometimes thickerer. ;)

Regarding Wal-Mart and coin machines. I had much better finds when the one Wal-Mart had the coin machine out in the area where they stored their electric carts and wheelchairs. After they moved it over to the customer service area the finds dropped precipitously.

Yes, too much opportunity for Customer Service to grab the goodies!

For me Walmart is the worst for finding anything in the tray.

It almost seems like I find stuff in the Walmart machine more than in grocery stores. I don't get to Walmart often enough to say for sure, though.

Figured I'd share my mist recent Coinstar finds.
Other than some DEFDAM Lincolns, this is all I've gotten in the last few months.

A couple of pennies on the grill. This mashed nickel was on the shelf you can easily see the modern Jeff head and Monticello (rev) in hand. About a week ago I got this pressed penny on the shelf. It is Knoxville, Tenn centennial celebration. 1791-1991.

Found these on the CoinStar reject tray at a local Kroger store yesterday, along with some other junk. 2020-12-09_100316_884 CS 1956D.jpg 2020-12-09_101124_299 CS AATA.jpg 'THE RIDE AATA" is a bus token from the Ann Arbor Transit Authority.
