Going through a box of money I found this and the paper with it said valuable 1973 OLD PESOS NEW TYPE PS2 or P52 not sure. I do not have a world currency book yet and was just wondering if someone could help to give me an idea of the value. One is a serie B and the other is a serie C. Thanks, Fastfun1111
Can't really help on current numismatic value, but I'm sure it's a large multiple of face value. After two 1000:1 devaluations of the Uruguayan Peso (1975 & 1994) face value in current terms is 1 centessimo. At the current exchange rate of US$1 = UruP23.26, the bill's face value is ~.043¢.
The Mexican peso was devalued around 1992/93 when 1000 old pesos = 1 new peso, so that old note is now worth less than 50 cents, assuming it is still legal tender (my guess is that it isn't)
I believe that Mexico has never devalued their money in the past 100 years or so. Far as I am aware, those old Mexican notes can be redeemed for CURRENT NOMINAL VALUE only at the Bank of Mexico. most people tend to sell those old notes as collectibles instead since their revalued face value is less than their collection value
