I have bought a few of these over the years and one day I will build a reasonably matched set. I haven't bought one for a few years until this one arrived this week. They tend to come on full flans. Thanks for the links. I'd seen Doug's page before but I couldn't remember how to find it. Interestingly, when I tried to go to the second page that you linked to, I got this message: Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to probvs.net. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details. What can you do about it? The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.
That's a shame. It know the site admin had stepped back from the site a bit. I doubt that the issue will be resolved, which is a shame as the site was a great resource for Probus collectors.
My guess is that the issue is probably with Firefox. It is probably not a secure site, which is why Firefox objected, but it doesn't require any passwords or personal information, so I'm not sure what the big deal is. Hopefully, in a future update, Firefox will be able to distinguish between a website that requires information from a visitor and one that is purely presentational.
..as a general collector of coins with history in mind, i dont concentrate too much on exactly where the coins were minted, but one o dese (left one?) Probus's o mine might fit your bill..
