A restrike from the 1960s From Great Collections and not a rare item, but so far the only one PCGS has seen. It graded out as SP65.
This acquisition is a little less exciting than the S-VDB from my last post. @Lehigh96 recently had a GTG for a 1958-D nickel, and made me realize mine was, well, just sad. Luster is lacking, and so is detail, the steps are weak, and the dies are worn. So I spent $6 and got a nicer one (and that included $3.95 shipping!). This is highly reflective, so I had to keep the photo a bit dark to keep the light under control. The dark spots are a photographic artifact. They are actually extra-reflective, but direct the light away from the camera, making them look black from most angles.
So I haven't posted in awhile, just finding a few silver dimes an a couple of W quarters. Today I was filling my change in my register. Had a total of 6 bank rolls of quarters which all had what looked like uncirculated 2020s.(the one with the painter and the house). Of course I had to look through them expecting nothing. In each roll I found at least 1 W quarter, all of them the one with the bat. There were 2 more rolls from the same box I bought to search. Found a total of 10 uncirculated W quarters, gave 3 to my boss for her husband's collection
I upgraded my seated quarter from a weakly struck AU50 to this sharply struck PF61. Under normal daylight the hairlines aren’t that apparent. A lot of coin for the money, considering only 625 were minted. Not to mention the rarity of this date in general.
Posted this before on another section, this was sent to me by my sister who spotted it while shopping in Vancouver and knew I didn't have this one
