Coins ON the TV? Hello everyone its been a long time since i stopped by.Since i got my coins after my dad passed away i have been thinking about doing some collecting and i see the guys on dish coincountry and the other i think its csn are there prices a joke or are they deals like they say.the guys i took some of my coins to said they wre borderline rip offs.If i do start i want to do it right and not make and stupid mistakes any help would be grate.I'll try to get pic up of my dads error and a # of his 1920's bills and othe older coins thanks
Please don't pay any attention to any television coin salesmen. I will say, without hesitation, that if you buy from them you will pay a very significant markup over normal retail coin prices. Take your time, read some books (your local library may be a good source if you don't want to shell out cash initially), and feel free to come chat with us on CoinTalk any time you want. The people here, while sometimes having widely-varied opinions, are a good source of knowledge, and are generally willing to help. We would like very much to see your pictures to help you ascertain what you have.
While sometimes entertaining, buying coins from TV salesmen is not a good way to add to your collection. In short, you will pay way too much money. Steer clear of these snake oil doctors....especially the fat one named Bob.
I wouldn't exactly call Littleton a "ripoff". Their coins are overpriced BUT they do not overgrade their coins.
