Well done @zumbly! I recall seeing your post on the Cleopatra Selene coin earlier, and I quite enjoyed reading - excellent pick up! I am also partial to the Caracalla provincial - what a fantastic reverse!

Your Gortyna is a truly superb example with phenomenal eye appeal. It's an incredibly challenging type to find in any decent condition, especially with nice metal. It's one of the top coins on my Greek wantlist and has proven to be quite a tough one to find.

Wonderful coins, zumbly! The Gortyna stater is spectacular, but my personal favorites are the Antinous drachm (great condition for the type) and the Juba/Cleopatra Selene denarius. I always enjoy your write-ups, all of your coins seem to have a interesting a
story behind them...congrats on some great additions to a great collection!

Great coins all! I especially like the Soloi-Pompeiopolis, Antinous and of course the Gortyna.

I was waiting to comment on this list until I had some time to really sit down and read it. A zumbly thread is always worth a careful read and a top 10 doubly so.

Every coin here is truly wonderful and it’s hard to argue with the list as you have it ranked. Your #1 and #2 stand out from the rest as just all around amazing. That Antinous portrait is excellent and your Gortyna stater would be a centerpiece in any collection.

The only change I would make to your ordering would be to promote your Commodus/Glykon AE to #3 on the list. What a fun and interesting story! Great coin. Great list.

I'm sorry I missed this the first time around. What an incredible year you had, coin buddy! I think I would have ranked these almost the same as you, except Juba/Selene would have bumped the Titus down one slot, and the Pautalia might have done the same to the Rhegion litra. They are all super coins, but of course the Gortyna is in its own league. Your photo of it is superb. I downloaded it for my viewing pleasure, I hope that's OK. :D

Such a happy ending, it hardly belongs in 2020. And @TIF was wrong for once... not another one with your name on it, but that very one! Woohoo!!

Haha... that was probably not the only time I whined about it publicly. :shame: But thanks for reminding me about it, and thanks for your constant support, optimism, and (frequent) good counsel. Have a great 2021, buddy!

What a great year, Z! Parting with the couple dozen must've been hard but that Gortyna is worth it. Congrats on the great deal you got on your chicken & waffles :).

Your Cilician Chrysippus and Aratus bronze has me green with envy :wideyed:.
